This CD contains the data collected for a suite of active layer monitoring sites in the Mackenzie Valley, N.W.T. The file "OF6287.pdf" contains a report that provides background information and describes the accompanying database. The report also provides photographs of monitoring sites and graphical presentations of thaw penetration and ground surface elevation. 

The database is provided as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet file "Active Layer.xls". This file contains site descriptions (worksheet "MetaData") and active layer thickness data (worksheet "Active Layer")is provided in .xls format. Worksheet tables for the database are also provided as tab delimited ASCII files, "Active Layer.txt" and "Metadata.txt".
