GSC OPEN FILE 4595 This CD-ROM includes the Geological Survey of Canada Open File 4595: Ice flow history and glacial stratigraphy, Kivalliq Region, Nunavut (NTS 55J,K,L,M,N,O; 65I and P): complete datasets, maps and photographs from the Western Churchill NATMAP Project by I. McMARTIN and P.J. HENDERSON Digital files on this CD-ROM are as follows: \Digital photos A collection of 259 digital field photos regrouped by NTS sheet. Site locations and photo captions are given in the "Erosional datasets" directory. All photos are in .jpg format (Corel Photo-Paint 9.0 Image). Higher resolution .tif images are available upon request to I. McMartin. \Erosional datasets Location and description of all erosional ice-flow indicators measured in 1997, 1998 and 1999, regrouped by NTS sheet. Ice-flow indicators published on available surficial geology maps are also included. The datasets are in .xls format (Microsoft Excel Worksheet). \Ice flow maps Ice flow figures are presented by NTS sheet at 1:200 000 scale. They include a selection of data from existing surficial geology maps and all the new data collected as part of the Western Churchill NATMAP Project (erosional and depositional ice flow indicators). A compilation of all the ice-flow features is also provided at the 1:500 000 scale for the entire study area. All figures are in .pdf format (Adobe Acrobat Document). \Stratigraphic sections Datasets for each section examined are presented as follows: 1) Stratigraphic column, till geochemistry and pebble count data plotted in .pdf format; 2) Field photographs in .jpg format (captions given in "Methods" directory); 3) Till fabric data and stereograms in .doc format (Microsoft Word Document); 4) Till geochemistry, pebble lithology, grain size and carbonate content in .xls format; and 5) Sample description in .xls format. Captions for the section photos and a summary of the field and analytical procedures are presented in .doc and .xls formats (in "Methods" directory). An interpretive compilation of the 3 sections is presented in .pdf format.
