The suggested reference for this CD-ROM is as follows: Thomas, M.D., Walker, J.A., Keating, P., Shives, R., Kiss, F.,and Goodfellow, W.D. 2000. Geophysical Atlas of Massive Sulphide Signatures, Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick - CD-ROM Version. Geological Survey of Canada Open File D3887, New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy, Minerals and Energy Division, Open File 2000-9, 105 p. In this CD-ROM the atlas is represented as a single .pdf file (atlas.pdf) stored in the root directory. This file may be opened and viewed on any computer that has Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed. If Acrobat Reader is not installed, the file may be opened using an appropriate version of Acrobat Reader that may be downloaded from the Adobe website at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html, where a user may obtain further information. A decompressed Windows version of Reader is included on this CD- ROM in the "acrobat" directory. The Windows version of Acrobat Reader will operate on PCs whose operating systems conform to Windows 95/98/nt, and the Reader software may be activated by double-clicking on the file AcroRd32.exe in the "Reader" sub-directory of the "acrobat" directory, which opens the Acrobat Reader window. The cover page of the atlas may then be viewed by opening the atlas.pdf file. The format of the atlas is 11 inches by 17 inches in portrait orientation. For Windows users, clicking on "window" in the menu bar and selecting Show Bookmarks produces a sub-window to the left of the atlas window containing a vertical list of topic headings (bookmarks). This list essentially duplicates the list of topics outlined on the Contents page of the atlas. Clicking on any one of these bookmarks\headings will open the corresponding page of the atlas in the viewing window to the right. Information on each of the twenty massive sulphide deposits featured in the atlas is spread over 4 pages. The bookmark for each deposit will open the first page, which contains descriptive text. Subsequent pages (or previous pages) can be opened by clicking the arrows in the status bar at the bottom of the viewing window. This status bar also shows which of the 111 pages of the atlas is being viewed. Clicking on "window" in the menu bar and selecting Show Thumbnails produces a sub-window to the left of the atlas window containing one or more (depending on the width of the thumbnail window) columns of thumbnail sketches of the atlas pages. Double- clicking on any one of these will open the corresponding page in the right-hand window.
