Readme file The user will find 3 main sections on this CD-ROM: 1. DOCUMENTS All reports, maps and references are included in PDF format (portable document format). To access these files, the user needs to have ACROBAT READER on his computer. For information about how to install acrobat Reader, go to the ACROBAT READER SECTION (see below). *To get started, load Acrobat Reader, and open cd drive:\Document\DOCUMENT.PDF. **MAC USERS MUST USED THE DOCUMENT LOCATED IN cd drive:\MAC\DOCUMENT\DOCUMENT.PDF. 2. TUTORIAL The tutorial can be accessed by the TUTORIAL button on the first page of the DOCUMENT.PDF. This tutorial was completed using DIRECTOR MACROMEDIA. It is an interactive tutorial that shows the user, step by step, the different parts of the document and gives an overview of how to navigate the Acrobat Reader document. 3. DATAROOM The dataroom is a directory with subdirectories for each data set and contains all the RAW data in ASCII format. These data have to be opened manually using a spreadsheet application. None of these data can be accessed from the Acrobat Reader program. The name of the specific file and the file location in the dataroom is indicated on each PDF graphics. The Shear Wave Velocities data are subdivided in 4 folders: 1. Borehole shear wave velocity logs: cd drive:\DATAROOM\Borehole\*.xls 2. Seismic cone penetrometer: cd drive:\DATAROOM\SCPT\scpt*.xls 3. Surface shear wave refraction soundings: cd drive:\DATAROOM\Surref\site*.xls 4. Seismic lines (Dynamic Oil) with shear wave velocity analysis locations: cd drive:\DATAROOM\Dynlines\*\*.xls The digital data for the borehole conductivity, gamma, magetic susceptibility and generalized geology can be found in: cd drive:\DATAROOM\Geophys\*.xls Digital data associated with the Conoco Dynamic Mud Bay Well report can be found in: cd drive:\DATAROOM\Mudbay.dat The UTM coordinates for all survey sites can be found in : cd drive:\DATAROOM\UTMcoord.dat ACROBAT READER -------------- In order to be able to view any of the PDF document listed in the DOCUMENT folder, ACROBAT READER must be on your computer. To install Acrobat Reader go to the appropriate folder for your system, located in the folder Acroread (cd drive:\acroread). The user will find an extended version of the full installation instructions provided by Adobe Acrobat Reader in a readme file located in that same folder (cd drive:\acroread\readme). This readme file also contains details about Acrobat Reader distribution, restriction, etc. To simplify installation, the folders provided here have been limited to the Reader installation. Some of the contents as OLE, Quicktime and Acrobat Search located in the Acroread folder will not have to be down loaded to your computer. You will then find below, a short description of the installation procedures for both platforms according to the requirements of this CD-ROM.
