GETTING STARTED
The HTML documentation on this CD is best viewed at a screen
resolution of 1024 x 768 using Microsoft Internet Explorer.
If this CD-ROM fails to start automatically on a Microsoft Windows
Operating System or if it is used on an operating system other
than Microsoft Windows, the HTML documentation may be accessed by
pointing any browser to the 'index.htm' file in DOC\HTML directory.
If this CD-ROM fails to start automatically it will be necessary
to manually install Adobe AcrobatReader so that the Portable
Document Files (PDF) may be viewed. See the final paragraph in
this Readme File for AcrobatReader installation instructions.
VIEWING THE DIGITAL MAP IN PDF:
A PDF version of the digital map is included for reference when
setting up an ArcView project or ArcInfo coverages from the SHAPE
and EXPORT files. This map (file nts94g4.pdf) may be viewed using
the Adobe AcrobatReader.
FOR EXPERT GIS USERS:
Following are the setup parameters to begin importing the data.
Projection: not projected
Coordinate System: Longitude, Latitude in decimal degrees
Horizontal Datum: NAD83
Vertical Datum: Mean Sea Level
ABOUT THE CD-ROM:
This CD contains the Geological Survey of Canada Open File 1748
which is a Geographic Information System (GIS) geological dataset
produced as part of the Central Foreland NATMAP Project.
Identification of the dataset and an explanation of the CD file
structure follows.

A GIS Dataset of Geological Features for the Mount McCusker Map Area
(94G/4), Peace River-Cassiar District, British Columbia.

Feature selection and ground distance resolution is 1:50 000 map
scale equivalent.

either ArcInfo Export (E00) files or SHAPE files. A text or hypertext
document viewer is required to access the documentation.

The DXF folder contains a metadata file (.met extension) and a Windows
zip file (nts94g4.zip) of the Geomatics Canada DXF data.
VIEWING SOFTWARE FOLDER:

Follow these steps to manually install AcrobatReader 5.0.5 and
view the PDF map:
1. navigate to the CD 'APPS' folder and copy the
AcrobatReader setup program ar505enu.exe to your hard drive;
2. navigate to the folder you copied ar505enu.exe to, double-
click on ar505enu.exe and follow the prompts.
