Résumé(Sommaire disponible en anglais seulement)
Mapping of the Bay of Fundy by Europeans commenced in the 1600s, and systematic geological mapping began in the 1960s, culminating with the map by Fader et al. (1977). In partnership with the Canadian Hydrographic Service and the University of New Brunswick, the Geological Survey of Canada began the systematic mapping of the Bay of Fundy with multibeam sonar in 2002. We discuss the survey strategies in this high tide range environment and highlight a few of the scientific and engineering insights gained form this multibeam sonar mapping program.
