Abstract(unpublished)
This bilingual map shows the geography of the northern circumpolar region, north of approximately 55 degrees, at a scale of 1:9 000 000. The map uses the azimuthal equidistant projection. It includes all international boundaries, as well as the Canadian provincial and territorial boundaries and Canada's 200 nautical mile offshore exclusive economic zone. National capital cities are shown, as are other cities, towns, villages and hamlets. Some seasonally populated places are also included. The map displays a number of significant northern features, including the median sea ice extent for September 1981 to 2010, the tree line, undersea relief, land relief, the Magnetic North Pole, glaciers, ice fields and coastal ice shelves. Many of the physiographic and hydrographic features are labelled.

Abstract(unpublished)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Reference Map Series, 1961 to 2012, is a revised bilingual map which was produced as a special product for the International Polar Year 2012. It was produced from the British Antarctic Survey (2010) Antarctica and the Arctic 1:10 000 000 scale map, Series BAS (Misc) Sheets 15A and 15B. Its round shape shows detail from south of 60 degrees latitude. The map uses the Polar Stereographic projection. All international boundaries are shown. Some seasonally populated places are shown. A number of significant features can be found such as coastline and ice shelves; bathymetry; ice/rock limits; contours, key mountain summits and hill-shaded terrain, and scientific research stations.

Abstract(unpublished)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada 8.5x11 series maps is a map which was prepared by three mapping agencies in cooperation with the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC). The CEC is located on Montreal and was created by Canada, Mexico and the United States under the North American Agreement on environmental Cooperation (NAAEC). The three mapping agencies involved are The Atlas of Canada, The National Atlas of the United States and the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics (INEGI) of Mexico. The map shows populated places, transportation routes, hydrography, bathymetry and political boundaries for all of North America. The scale of the map is 1:10 000 000 and it uses the Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area Projection. Many hydrographic and political names are shown in English, French and Spanish.

Abstract(unpublished)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Various Map Series, 1965 to 2006, is map which shows the distribution of land cover types across Canada. The images are Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer data, which means very precise detail, is shown on the map. The land cover map contains 31 land cover classes: 12 forest; 3 shrub land; 6 barren land and grassland; 7 developed land types including cropland; mosaic and built-up areas; and 2 non vegetable land cover types. Base data is limited to a small selection to populated places and major roads. The right hand panel of the map gives pictures and descriptions for each of the 31 land cover classes. The imagery data are from 1995.

Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Various Map Series, 1965 to 2006, is is the first of a planned series of regional satellite image maps of all of Canada. It was one of the first satellite image maps to combine imagery and other map components such as boundaries, roads, railways and place names. The imagery is a composite of many images from the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) satellites. The imagery was captured between August 11 to 20, 1990 to obtain cloud-free coverage. This was the only map in this planned series that was produced.

Abstract(unpublished)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Various Map Series, 1965 to 2006, is a bilingual map produced jointly by Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Space Agency. The map was produced using 45 separate images taken by AVHRR sensors aboard satellites of the National Aeronautics and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The satellite data was enhanced so that certain major land-cover types could be more readily told apart from one another. AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) data has pixel resolution of about 1 x 1 kilometre size on the ground. The data were compiled from images taken in August 1990.

Abstract(unpublished)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Various Map Series, 1965 to 2006, is a topographic map showing the part of Yukon Territory containing the Centennial Range. The range was given its name fas part of the celebrations of Canada's Centennial in 1967. As part of this activity, there is a named mountain within the range for each province and territory. The map also shows the location of major climbing routes for this area and for the Mount Logan area (which is also on this map). The map was prepared by the Alpine Club and Canada and the Government of Yukon Territory, using 1: 250 000 National Topographic Map series sheets as its base maps. The map has bilingual notes and legends. Data are as of 1967.

Abstract(unpublished)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Various Map Series, 1965 to 2006, is a map of the Northern Hemisphere which is the second edition produced in 1965. It shows most of the continental and ocean areas of the Northern Hemisphere north of the following degrees of North latitude: 18 degrees on the top or Asian side, 20 degrees on the Pacific or left side, 12 degrees on the right or Middle East / African side and 14.5 degrees on the Atlantic or bottom side. All four corners show land and water areas south of the Equator. The map uses a Polar Equidistant Project and the scale varies depending on the location due to the properties of the projection. All land areas are a single light brown colour and all water areas are a light greenish blue. All text, lines of latitude and longitude and hydrography are black.
