Summary | (Plain Language Summary, not published) This poster summarizes recent research on the postglacial limit of marine invasion along the Hudson Bay coastal regions of central mainland Nunavut and
northern Manitoba. The content of the poster, written in a plain language format for the northern communities, is aimed at showing the limit of the inundated areas on a map and providing an overview of the processes that lead to the marine
transgression, post-glacial rebound and marine regression, and the resulting effects on the landscape (with many photographs). The poster also informs the communities about the implications and impacts of this work on terrestrial infrastructures,
nearshore sea transport and mineral exploration. The work was completed as part of Natural Resources Canada's GEM-GeoNorth Program in collaboration with the Manitoba Geological Survey. |
