Summary | (Plain Language Summary, not published) This talk provides an overview of critical metals in mineral systems with iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) and affiliated deposits. It represents one of two
contributions of the Geological Survey of Canada at an American Geosciences Institute forum delivered March 16th 2022. The forum presented an update on the Critical Minerals Mapping Initiative (CMMI), a joint research program between the Geological
Survey of Canada, the U.S. Geological Survey, and Geoscience Australia. The presentation highlights new critical mineral research by the Targeted Geoscience Initiative Program that contributed to the deposit classification system of the CMMI for
critical and precious metal deposits formed in regional metasomatic iron and alkali-calcic environments. |
