This document lists every geologic and cartographic symbol available to cartographers and geoscientists. Each symbol is listed with a special number code used in the ArcGIS style, a description, a list of related keywords, a graphic showing the components that make up the symbol, the colour of the symbol, a graphic of how the symbol should appear in the legend, a legend order number and notes on the usage of the symbol. The appendices include: -Abbreviations for minerals that appear in rocks -International Stratigraphic Chart showing the names of geological ages such as Jurassic and Triassic -GSC age designators, special codes and typography for geological ages -Diagrams of all of the characters found in the three fonts required to work with the ArcGIS style file -Abbreviations for Surficial geological events.
