Abstract(Summary)
The ore samples submitted contained the following percentages of molybdenite: A/0.21. B/0.25 C/0.03 D/1.61 E/0.20 F/ 0.31 G/1.89 The molybdenite occurred in. fairly large flakes and masses, and was generally free of inclusions. Pyrrhotite was the principal sulphide mineral in the ore samples. Flotation concentration readily produced molybdenite concentrates assaying over 87% MoS? after grinding to minus 35 mesh. When the pyrrhotite was removed from the flotation concentrate by magnetic separation, the grade was increased to about 95%. In the tests conducted on composite samples, the molybdenite recovery attained 84% with Sample "A+E", 96% with Sample "D+F+G" and 83% with Sample "B+C".
