Program | Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI-5) Knowledge Management Coordination |
Released | 2019 11 25 |
Summary | (Plain Language Summary, not published) This publication highlights the successes and accomplishments of the current phase of the Targeted Geoscience Initiative at the Geological Survey of
Canada (2015-2020). TGI is a collaborative, federal geoscience program that provides industry with knowledge and innovative techniques to enhance effective targeting of deeply buried mineral deposits. Using an ore system approach, TGI¿s thematic
research program integrates geoscience data and knowledge on Canada¿s major mineral systems from locations across the country. Recent TGI research has focused on understanding geological processes that lead to mineral deposition and modelling 3D
geological structure at depth to identify potential ore deposits. TGI is enhancing the exploration industry¿s effectiveness in detecting key economic minerals, while also training the next generation of ore system specialists. |
