Summary | (Plain Language Summary, not published) This presentation consists of the submission by the authors to the 2017 Frank Arnott Award, an international challenge focussing on data integration,
visualization and innovation within the minerals industry. Using a comprehensive dataset from the Quesnel Terrane, British Columbia, the GSC-based team (named 'Logan's Legends' in honour of the GSC's founder, Sir William Logan) integrated surface
geochemistry, geophysics, structural geology and 3D modelling into a new regional-scale prospectivity model. Over a ~20,000 square kilometer area with no known mineral deposits, zones of high-prospectivity for copper mineralization buried by several
hundred metres of cover are identified. In October 2017, the Frank Arnott Award judging committee announced that team Logan's Legends placed 1st in the 'experienced category', thereby winning the award. |
