Preface
The original Mining Information Kit for Aboriginal Communities, which this document updates and replaces, was published in 2006. It was a partnership project between
the Minerals and Metals Sector of Natural Resources Canada, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, The Mining Association of Canada, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, and the
Canadian Aboriginal Minerals
Association.
This revised Guide was developed by reviewing user feedback on the 2006 version and through a process involving an advisory committee. The advisory committee comprised the original partners of the Mining Information Kit for Aboriginal
Communities and representatives of Aboriginal organizations, mining industry, civil society, government, and academia.
It is designed to be used as a complementary tool to existing instruments and as a living document. |
