| Abstract | Various methods that have been shown to give consistently good results in the preparation of metallographic samples are described. The selection and application of these techniques to the various alloys
is discussed relative to the class of examination required. The avoidance of certain pitfalls is discussed and information is given on a number of minor points that collectively can lead to a considerable improvement in technique. |
