From introduction of chapter: This chapter provides an overview of ongoing and projected changes in climate and other environmental factors that could
cumulatively affect the sustainability of coastal environments and coastal societies. The chapter also summarizes key elements in planning approaches to adaptation, and describes how planning for adaptation is being used in some coastal areas to
respond proactively to altered weather patterns and a changing climate. More detailed information on each of Canada¿s coastal regions (Eastern, Western and Northern) is found in Chapters Four through Six. |
