Summary(Plain Language Summary, not published)
This report is published under the Government of Canada's GEM-2 program, to support geo-mapping for energy and minerals in the North. The Ore Collections stored at the Geological Survey of Canada represent 175 years of mineral exploration in Canada. New mineral deposit sample suites are being added to the collections as they are studied at the GSC. This report provides the first digital index and photographic record of the unique ore collections at the GSC. These samples represent the ore deposit types that are being searched for in Canada¿s North today. Thus these collections are an invaluable local resource for scientists studying ore deposits under GEM-2, and for any other mineral deposit research.
