Bedrock data are provided from a 550 km geological transect across western Nunavut, collected during the GEM¿s 2012 Geo-mapping Frontiers project aimed at improving understanding of remote and poorly understood regions of Canada¿s north. This report includes field observations from 238 sites, along with geochemical, Nd isotopic, U-Pb metamorphic monazite, P-T, and Ar-Ar data for selected sites. The results, together with available geochronological data, support division of the region into 5 distinct crustal domains (from west to east): Thelon tectonic zone (Ttz), Mesoarchean block (Mb), Queen Maud granitoid belt, Sherman basin, and Rae craton. The areal distribution of ca. 2.6 and 2.5 Ga plutonic rocks suggests a Mb-Rae collision between 2.6 and 2.5 Ga. Reworking occurred during the 2.5-2.35 Ga Arrowsmith orogeny (affecting the Mb), the 2.0-1.91 Ga Thelon orogeny (affecting the Ttz and western Mb), and the 1.84 Ga Hudsonian orogeny (affecting the Rae craton).
