AbstractA preliminary isotope and geochemical survey of various surface waters and g~oundwaters was completed in the White Lake Basin, British Columbia. The stable isotope and chemical data indicate that deep groundwaters are a separate water mass from the shallow groundwater flow systems. The intermediate and deep groundwater appear ta be too old (greater than 30 years) to contain tritium. The lower heavy isotope contents in the deep water signifylng recharge at cooler temperatures probably reflects a recharge at altitudes above 1500 m.
