The Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI-4) is a collaborative federal geoscience program that provides industry with the next generation of geoscience knowledge and innovative techniques to better detect buried mineral deposits, thereby reducing some of the risks of exploration. The field mapping and platinum group element data for the Giant Mascot Ni-Cu deposit in southwestern BC is released in time for the Roundup 2014 meeting in Vancouver. The preliminary geological map including rock and ore compositions are useful for the exploration industry across Canada in orogenic (mountain building) terranes.
