Summary(Plain Language Summary, not published)
A study was conducted to examine the geologic settings of northern communities that are most favourable to providing geothermal energy (both electrical and direct heat). Preliminary first order estimates were made for development costs based on reasonable drilling depths to define communities where further research is warranted for the economic potential of geothermal energy to support local energy demands.
