This poster, presented at the 2013 AMEBC Roundup, summarizes results for the Chantrey region of the Geo-Mapping for Energy and Minerals (GEM) Program's Geo-Mapping Frontiers project. Using legacy data, remote predictive mapping, new airborne geophysical and targeted bedrock, surficial and geochemical surveys along a 450 km long transect, five regionally extensive crustal domains have been identified, from west to east, the Thelon tectonic zone, Queen Maud microcontinent, a ca. 2.5 Ga plutonic belt, the Sherman metasedimentary belt, and the Rae craton. Bedrock, indicator mineral and geochemical observations indicate undiscovered mineral potential, including copper-nickel-chromium-platinum group elements, gold, silver, rare earth elements and polymetallic targets.
