AbstractTwo redbed formations, related to the Bache Peninsula Arch, are present at the head of Cañon Fiord. The lower one, the Red Canyon River Formation, is 1800 m thick and consists of interbedded sandstone and siltstone. The Red Canyon River Formation is overlain with angular unconformity by the Vendom Fiord Formation, which consists of about 200 m of conglomerate and sandstone.
