AbstractFoxe Peninsula, southwest Baffin Island, is an area with exploration potential for base metals and diamonds, but is lacking in basic geoscience data. In an effort to improve the glacial geological understanding, ice-flow indicators such as striae and erratics were used to reconstruct five phases of ice flow. These phases record the influences of the Hudson Strait Ice Stream (easterly); Foxe dome, and the Amadjuak and Foxe divides (southerly component); and Amadjuak dome (northwesterly component) on ice flow in the region. Terrestrial cosmogenic nuclide ages are presented for the Foxe moraine (early to mid-Holocene) and a delta (early Holocene) to the west of Cape Dorset.
