AbstractArchived samples of surface tills in northernmost Manitoba have been analysed for eleven elements (As, Co, Cu, Cr, Fe, Mo, Mn, Ni, Pb, U, Zn) in order to establish regional background geochemistry. The report interprets the geographic distribution of elements and indicates sites of interest for understanding the geology of the area or for mineral exploration. Matrix carbonate contents and clast lithologies of the till show the limits of two major ice domains and aid the interpretation of ice flow patterns. Water contents and Atterberg limits of samples collected are also included in the report.
