AbstractIn 1996, the CCRS CV-580 remote sensing aircraft containing a C-band polarimetric SAR was transferred to Environment Canada which has continued to operate the facility. As part of the transfer agreement with Environment Canada, CCRS continues to use this facility and regularly collects data for internal research purposes. With the potential of the ESA, and the Canadian RADARSAT II programs, providing multi-polarization and polarimetric data sets at C-band, renewed interest in using this facility has occurred. In this paper, we review the use of the facility for research activities and the state of the processing and calibration of this instrument.
