Abstract | The RADARSAT-1 spacecraft was launched in November, 1995 as part of an imaging system designed to provide calibrated synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image products to users. SAR image calibration is a
key aspect of the optimal utilization of imagery from this system. The development of a system with the capability to provide quantitative information to users required new developments in hardware and software. Calibration plans were established
to provide calibrated products and to ensure the maintenance of calibration and Image Quality of RADARSAT products throughout the mission in accordance with the RADARSAT system Specifications. Consequently, RADARSAT products can be exploited
quantitatively making possible further development of such remote sensing applications. |
