| Abstract | The yacht 'Goupe LG2' went missing in the south Pacific in January 1997 during the Vendée Globe around-the-world solo yacht race. RADARSAT synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images were acquired and
analyzed as part of the search effort. The wind and wave conditions tended to be severe; the RADARSAT search was not successful. We present a few of the RADARSAT SAR images and discuss the detectability of this class of vessel in SAR imagery.
