Abstract | Although the interaction between linearly polarized microwaves and agricultural targets has been studied extensively, far less is understood about the added information provided from polarimetric SARs.
Using 1994 SIR-C data, this study examined the role of polarimetric parameters in better defining post-harvest agricultural surfaces. Preliminary results suggest that cross-pol backscatter, pedestal height and cross-pol ratios provide information on
soil management practices, including type of crop residue and amount of residue cover. |
