AbstractIn this paper we advance the proposition that a side-selectable SAR in combination with a wide-swath nadir-looking optical sensor would be a good configuration for RADARSAT III on the grounds that this would maximize the accessible swath and build upon the short latency (or waiting) time strengths of RADARSAT I. We further propose that a flexible and dynamic scheduling system with fast-track capability would help make short latency capability available to users who have time-critical requirements.
