AbstractThe geometry and the accuracy of the cartographic localisation of RADARSAT images are being evaluated as part of the Canadian Space Agency's Applications Development Research Opportunity (ADRO) program. Geometric processing (mono and stereoscopic) of different images acquired over an area in Sherbrooke, Quebec, was done by varying those parameters that have an impact on image geometry. Using a parametric geometric modelling method developed at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing, the accuracy of the cartographic localisation is quantified as a function of the mode, the beam, the orbit, the resolution and pixel spacing, the number of images and control points.
