AbstractWith its wide range (10º- 59º) of incidence angles, the RADARSAT satellite is the first commercial radar system from which authentic stereoscopic images can be acquired. Radargrammetry has now become an operational method for the restitution of terrain relief. Two processes are considered: the interactive or assisted process which uses analytical or digital stereo-plotters, and the automatic process which uses automatic correlation and three-dimensional intersection. Samples produced by a DVP digital stereo-plotter and the automatic GEOtopo software are analyzed. Researchers at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing, the University College of London and the company GEOIMAGE present the results of radargrammetric processing using ERS-1 and RADARSAT stereo-pairs.
