AbstractDigital elevation model (DEM) and terrain displacement measurements are among the principal applications of repeat-pass interferometric SAR. In this paper the effect of inhomogeneous atmospheric propagation on Arctic terrain DEM generation and displacement mapping are examined using both ERS tandem mode and Radarsat data. Two Radarsat pairs chosen with large baselines optimise the accuracy of DEM generation. General accuracies and limitation for both applicatons are assessed.
