AbstractRADARSAT is the first operational radar satellite that can generate 25 different types of images. Effective use of these data is aided by knowledge of their geometric quality and assessment of the parameters (modes, beam, resolution, angles, etc.) that affect geometric processing of a single image or of several images simultaneously. Preliminary results show that both planimetric and altimetric resolutions are sufficiently accurate if more than one image is used. In the case of more than one image, an opposite side stereo configuration improves results.
