AbstractWe investigated RADARSAT-1 beam modes EL1 (Extended Low), S1, S5 and S7 (Standard) and EH6 (Extended High), which cover a wide range of incidence angles, from a mountainous forest region in Sarawak, Malaysia. Recognition and continuity of geological structures and rock units are often difficult to ascertain from single SAR images, however these relationships and a wealth of additional information are gained through stereoscopic examination of suitable RADARSAT-1 stereo-pairs. Same-side stereo-pairs with adequate overlap and large angles of stereo intersection yield best results for geological interpretations.
