Abstract | This paper discusses the effect of two processing parameters on 10-day composites of AVHRR data prepared using a maximum NDVI criterion, namely correction for atmospheric effects and constraining the
maximum permissible satellite viewing angle. Images of North American landmass north of 35 degrees were used. It is found that atmospheric correction carried out prior to compositing increased residual bidirectional effects and that the angular
constraint, while reducing these effects, results in retaining more cloudy pixels in the composites. (From Author) |
