Abstract | For the Land Cover Classification component of the Northern Biosphere Observation and Modelling Experiment (NBIOME), two image products were generated from multitemporal AVHRR (Advanced Very High
Resolution Radiometer) data. A systematic investigation of the relationships between the information content of the multitemporal data sets and existing biophysical classifications of Canada revealed that non-irrigated and irrigated cropland,
deciduous forest, coniferous forest, grassland, tundra, barrenland, and ice units can be delineated with the 1.1 km resolution AVHRR data. |
