Abstract | The Radar Data Development Program (RDDP) was initiated in 1986 by the Canadian Government with the goal to prepare potential users of radar remote sensing data for the European ERS-1 and the Canadian
RADARSAT satellite missions. This paper provides a general outline of the RDDP. Various linkages for participating federal and provincial institutions and the private sector are described, including the nature of Memoranda of Understanding, joint
research activities with the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) and other technology transfer initiatives. This is followed by an overview of RDDP projects related to radar applications development in Atlantic Canada covering the period from
March 1987 to March 1990. Emphasis is on activities involving CCRS's Technology Transfer Program and its partners in the region. |
