Abstract(unpublished)
This paper presents an overview of the Canadian ERS-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar Data Processing Facility (SARDPF) which is being developed for the Canadian Radar Data Centre. The SARDPF receives User Requests for ERS-1 SAR Image Mode products, coordinates the required data acquisitions, and generates a variety of products.
Novel features of the SARDPF include:SAR processing at 1/40 of real-time, SAR geocoding, Image archiving on High Density Tape Recorders, a data and time code switching matrix for routing high-speed serial data around the system, an upgrade path for the Canadian Radarsat mission.
