AbstractThe NW boundary zone of the Central Metasedimentary Belt in the Haliburton region is composed of at least two thrust sheets, each 3-4 km thick, bounded above and below by highly strained silicate gneisses and marble tectonic mélange. These are zones of ductile overthrusting towards the NW, along the direction of the extension lineation.
